A Divided Supreme Court Decision Spurs A Divided Populace

The Supreme Court has had a busy week, handing down two major decisions that have whipped talking heads into a frenzy. DOMA’s repeal was widely celebrated by the public and stole the spotlight from the much more divisive changes to the Voting Rights Act, which were announced just days before. In a 5-4 ruling, SCOTUS challenged Congress to update voting laws in southern states.
