Better late than never…?
KSL-TV, NBC‘s affiliate in Salt Lake City, Utah, has just announced it will be airing Saturday Night Live for the first time since it became an affiliate in 1995. KSL has become somewhat legendary among the television journalist community for its announcement about which NBC productions it will not include in its own lineup.

Recent victims of ax-ing by the local station include gay-themed The New Normal, Hannibal, and The Playboy Club.
In case one hasn’t put two-and-two together, KSL-TV is owned by the Mormon church. The Church’s policy is to refuse broadcasting to any show it deems unsuitable for the airwaves. The 38-year old SNL was previously regarded as too racy, but as a result of the recent decline in ratings of local show SportsBeat Saturday KSL-TV seems to have reversed its decision.

Another wholesome victim of Mormon censorship.
Nothing like low ratings to make tv stations re-consider their standards, eh Mormons?
