Cicadas — we all know they’re the disgusting, underground-dwelling, buzzing creatures that freak us out every few years — or, in this case, every 17 years. The Brood II cicadas are getting ready to emerge from their underground nests of evil — all 1 trillion of them. However, we won’t be alone in our battle against these pesticide-resistant cretins.
We’ve got the wasps.
On the heels of the cicadas come wasps that like to make meals out of cicadas. But even they may not be able to handle the swarms of singing insects.
“With the large swarms of cicadas emerging over the next few weeks, you can expect many more cicada killers,” First Warn Storm Team Chief Meteorologist Brad Panovich told WCNC. “But even they won’t be able to keep up with the swarms coming.” (Source: Yahoo! News)
Of course, if cars could fight, we’d also have Bumblebee and the fabulous Yellow Jackets on our side. But those are merely dreams.
And the cicadas?
They’re real.
