My #WINNING Pledge: A Terrorist Will Never Make Me Think Twice

I pledge to never let the radical Islamic terrorists win. I’ll resist Orwellian legislation from the government, refuse to change my behavior, and most importantly, never change what I believe in. See, America is the best, we are generally a good and decent people, and God is still great.

It’s pretty simple to me, terrorist cannot win. Killing me isn’t necessarily their goal (well, not before this blog) — terrorizing me is. And I refuse to be terrorized, let alone from backward thinkers clinging to the most radical form of their holy teachings. Terrorists can kiss my half-Arab, half-Black ass.

Should cities go up in flames, I hope to be the guy taking a casual stroll through the streets.

Now, for more on my pledge.

I’ll never stop rolling my eyes at the TSA…

They’ve done nothing to prevent a terrorist attack. They get to touch us, humiliate us, and qualify for awesome benefits though. I’m bitter about how the federal government has further ruined the airport experience. Planes aren’t the problem, terrorists are!

At some point this ends? Right?

I’ll never consider there being a bomb in the building or let that deter me from an event…

Senator Ted Cruz at Blog Bash 2013

My annual DC party was threatened by a convicted bomber. Not even kidding. He tried intimidating the venue and the fact that he is a convicted bomber wasn’t lost on anyone involved. We considered the risk and the safety of our 300+ guests. While we were weighing all options, including canceling the event, I affirmed to myself, ‘I’ll go there even if I know there’s a bomb. I refuse to be intimidated.’ Brett Kimberlin is an evil douchebag.

I’ll never stop expressing my faith or sharing love commanded by God to Muslims…

christian-and-muslim

When some dude asked Jesus Christ what the greatest commandment was, Jesus said, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”

I believe I’ve subscribed to the absolute truth, which only reinforces the love I have for every single person on this planet. We are called to love.

I’ll never stop driving with women (no matter how dangerous that may in fact be)…

Women drivers

Asians, women, and children — in America, we let them drive. No matter how dangerous that is. Then again, I have a bunch of speeding tickets and am considered an even greater danger or how I explain it most of the time, “blah blah blah.

I will never let terrorism change my views on desiring meaningful immigration reform…

rubio

I’m for comprehensive immigration reform. I want the borders sealed and to deal with the troubled immigration process once and for all. We can still tackle big problems if we work together. The tragedy at the Boston Marathon won’t be swaying my policy views.

I refuse to stop joking about bombs and threatening my friends over the phone…

ali-akbar-on-phone

Don’t get me started. J. Edgar Hoover is rolling around in his grave listening to my phone conversations.

And, I will never change my name because I feel pressured…

I was born with this name, Ali A. Akbar, and I won’t be scared away from it. Though I have given thought to changing my name. My dad left when I was two, maybe he should’ve taken the name of his firstborn with him.

Refuse to be terror-stricken. We’re America, we’ll continue to kick their asses.
