As far as I know, qualification for the Olympics does not have an IQ component. The series premiere of What Would Ryan Lochte Do? on E! tonight verifies that assumption. That being said, Ryan Lochte isn’t a bad guy, at least no worse than the average guy you’d come across trying to pick up girls at a college frat party.

The show is humorous, entertaining and even sweet. While Ryan’s comments may not be the most insightful, he does provide a few good laughs. And it is kind of reassuring to see that even if he is an Olympian, at the end of the day he’s just your average 28 year-old single guy.

Ryan and his family are genuinely affectionate and show a loving family dynamic similar to the relationship of the family from TLC’s hit Here Comes Honey Boo Boo. His sisters serve as a nice reality check for him, especially when it comes to his somewhat naive approach to dating in the college town of Gainesville, Florida. And who doesn’t love a guy with killer abs who is also a mama’s boy?
