To quote T.S. Eliot “Sometimes things become possible if we want them bad enough.”
Baseball analyst, Tim McCarver has announced his retirement from the Fox broadcast booth following the 2013 season. McCarver, who has been ruining baseball games since 1984, said of his departure ”I wanted to step down while I know I can still do the job and proud of the job I’ve done.” Clearly Tim has never watched a game he announced.
In his way-too-long career, McCarver has announced games for multiple local markets in addition to the Fox broadcasts. Last year, McCarver was inexplicably awarded the Ford C. Frick Award from the Baseball Hall of Fame for contributions to baseball broadcasting. Perhaps they were pushing him towards retirement.
Whatever the case, once Tim retires, Mets Fans everywhere can unmute their TV sets while watching the Fox games and pray for a similar announcement from Joe Morgan.
