Tim McCarver Announces Retirement - Mets Fans Rejoice

To quote T.S. Eliot “Sometimes things become possible if we want them bad enough.” Baseball analyst, Tim McCarver has announced his retirement from the Fox broadcast booth following the 2013 season. McCarver, who has been ruining baseball games since 1984, said of his departure ”I wanted to step down while I know I can still do the job and proud of the job I’ve done.” Clearly Tim has never watched […]

Same-Sex Marriage Plays out in the Court and on the Field

Today the Supreme Court will hear arguments on Proposition 8 which banned same-sex marriage in California. Meanwhile, gay marriage is playing out on arguably a larger stage. Cleveland Browns linebacker, Scott Fujita took to the New York Times to argue his case in favor of same-sex marriage. I support marriage equality for so many reasons: my father’s experience in an internment camp and the racial intolerance his family experienced during […]

Women Disrespect Trent Richardson’s House, Allegedly Get Beat Up by His Girlfriend

Earlier in the week, Trent Richardson blamed himself for the “Crown of helmet hit rule.” Perhaps he was suffering from a guilty conscience. After Shane Larkin sank a fallaway three-pointer with 59.9 seconds left, Illinois Guard D.J. Richardson attempted one of his own.  The ball bounced off the rim and Miami’s Kenny Kadji appeared to bat it out of bounds. In a case of […]

Harvard’s Cinderella season came to an abrupt end on Saturday in a 74-51 trouncing by Arizona. After an upset win against New Mexico on Thursday where Harvard shot 52 percent, expectations were high.  But after missing their first 13 shots, it quickly became clear that the Crimson was outmatched.  Against Arizona, Harvard shot only 27 percent. In the second half Arizona guard Keven Parrom inadvertently elbowed Harvard freshman, Siyani Chamber […]

Lebron's Heat Make it 25, Lebron-less Cavs Lose Again

And The Streak goes on… LeBron James scored 29 points against the Pistons, leading the Heat to their 25th consecutive win.  This brings them to within 8 games of tying the 1971-1972 Lakers for the longest streak in NBA history. James, however, keeps things in perspective.  ”We don’t get caught up in things like that, saying that we’re untouchable,” said James adding ”We know we can be beat by anybody, […]

O Captain! My Captain!

The New York Mets have made it official: David Wright is their captain. Wright will join Paul Konerko (White Sox) and Derek Jeter (Evil-Doers) as one of only three active Captains in the MLB. Six-time All-Star Wright hasn’t really helped the Mets accomplish much. Since Wright’s debut in late 2004, the Mets have continued to play red-headed stepchild to the Yankees while remaining the laughing-stock of the NL East. Wright, […]
