Benghazi Scandal Is a Republican ‘Concoction,’ White House Spokesman Jay Carney Tells CNN

None of the scandals surrounding the Obama administration are actually scandals, according to White House spokesman Jay Carney. Interviewed Thursday by CNN’s Piers Morgan,  Carney said the controversy over the administration’s handling of the September attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi is a “total concoction by Republicans.”

The terrorist attack last fall, which the CIA has attributed to an al-Qaeda-linked group, killed the U.S. ambassador to Libya and three  other Americans. Obama administration officials initially claimed the attack was a spontaneous “demonstration” in reaction to a YouTube video.
