RedState.com’s Erick Erickson is appalled with the Republican establishment’s latest attempt in defending incumbent U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.). Challengers are lining up though and this ad entitled, “Our Back,” won’t ward any of them off.

Erickson points out the managers of Americans for a Conservative Direction are not the first names conservative activists think of, let alone in South Carolina.

It’s got Haley Barbour as the head of it, whose nephew was on the RNC audit committee. He’s joined by Sally Bradshaw of the same RNC Audit Committee. They’ve also got Joel Kaplan of Facebook, Dan Senor whose wife is Campbell Brown formerly of CNN, and Rob Jesmer.

Jesmer, you will recall, headed the National Republican Senatorial Committee and backed Arlen Specter, Charlie Crist, Trey Greyson, Bob Bennett, and every other terrible squishy moderate to liberal candidate the GOP could field.

Objectively, the ad’s production quality is crappy… at best.

S.C. State Senator Lee Bright and libertarian Republican Nancy Mace are considering bids, while announced conservative candidate Richard Cash appear to be Graham’s toughest hurdles. Caught in a run-off, even with all the money in the world, Graham could be doomed for defeat.
