In the wake of this week’s tragic Boston Marathon Bombing, Red Sox player David Ortiz took to the field during the Red Sox-Royals game today with a microphone, applauding and thanking Mayor Menino, Governor Patrick, and the Boston Police Department, before exclaiming, to huge applause, “This is our f*cking city! And nobody gonna dictate our freedom. Stay strong. Thank you.”
Ortiz, who has played for the Red Sox since 2003, was proclaimed “the greatest clutch-hitter in the history of the Boston Red Sox by Red Sox ownership in 2005.
