Since we’re all in need of a happy story:
Last year Ted Kremer, who has Down syndrome, won a silent auction to be the bat boy for a day with the Cincinnati Reds. Ted was such an inspiration that they brought him back again. This year, however, Kremer had a couple demands. 11 Strikeouts from the Cincinnati pitchers and a home run from Cincinnati slugger, Todd Frazier.
Frazier, reacting after the game said, “He’s so funny, he said, ‘C’mon, hit me a home run, I love you.’ I said, ‘I love you too, I’ll hit you one,’”
In the sixth inning, Frazier took John Maine deep keeping his promise to Kremer.
Incidentally, the pitchers also strike out 11. Seems the Reds might want to get Ted Kremer on contract or else the Yankees might pick him up.
