On May 23, 2013, Cheerios posted a sweet video on YouTube of a biracial family enjoying their breakfast cereal. Nothing to it right?

The commercial was met with such an ugly response that the comment section had to be disabled. Why the anger you ask? The video featured a family consisting of an African American father, a Caucasian mother and a biracial little girl. People called it “racist” and not the “Modern family” of today.

This started a firestorm of discussions amongst those on Facebook, Twitter and different news outlets.

A website was even created as a response to those who hated the commercial called wearethe15percent which showcases pictures of ordinary American Interracial families.

The following video was posted on Sunday by the folks behind the immensely popular Kids React series on YouTube.

Kids start off with a clean slate, it’s what we plant in their heads as parents that guide them to love. We have much to learn as a society and maybe a good place to start is with watching these kids share some words of wisdom.
