This Week : Boston Strong

Finally, this week of tragedy is coming to an end. Acknowledging the week’s events, I’m changing our topic from the originally planned “Are You Afraid of the Dark?”. It could just be me, but horror doesn’t seem like a great genre this week.

So instead of horror, I want to do a tiny tribute to Boston and recommend some comedies that showcase the brilliant qualities of the most resilient city I know:

A decade before Judd Apatow gained worldwide fame with “40 Year Old Virgin,” he made this quintessential Boston comedy starring Dan Aykroyd and Daniel Stern. It’s not a perfect movie, but any Boston sports fan can identify with the crazed fandom that exists in this city. And for those of you who argue that sports shouldn’t be a focus right now, think of all the positives that sports can contribute, like THIS.

One of the best sitcoms of all time, there couldn’t be an easier choice for the most “Boston” sitcom of all time. This doesn’t need much of a commentary. Just listen to the familiar theme, take in the lyrics, and pay a visit to that friendly Boston bar where everybody knows your name.
