Flurry of Fines for Flagrant Floppers

Sometimes it’s hard to tell whether the NBA players nearing the pinnacle of the 2013 season hope to hoist the Larry O’Brien NBA Championship Trophy or an Academy Award. In the case of three players in particular, the league has decided there will be no awards given for bad acting - just a handful of $5,000 fines.

In game four of the Eastern Conference Finals between the Miami Heat and the Indiana Pacers, Lebron James and David West made a feeble attempt to out-flop eachother:

Bam. $5,000 fine each.

But in perhaps the most Razzie-worthy performance by an actor…uh…professional basketball player this season, Indiana’s Lance Stephenson makes Keanu Reeves look like Sir Laurence Olivier with this performance, also from game four:

Bam. $5,000 fine.

With the series tied at two game apiece, we will undoubtedly see more award-winning performances as players do what they can to gain an advantage - even if it means they have to turn in a performance that rivals Shaquille O’Neal‘s star-turn in Kazaam:
