Dept. of Health: Deer Meat Poses Potential “Serious Health Threat”

After receiving a complaint about being fed deer meat from someone being helped by the Shreveport-Bossier Rescue Mission, the Dept. of Health and Hospitals ordered the staff to throw away 1,600 pounds of donated venison. “Deer meat is not permitted to be served in a shelter, restaurant or any other public eating establishment in Louisiana,” stated the Department of Health and Hospitals’ official Facebook page. “While we applaud the good […]
