Last night on the Late Show, Jason Sudeikis confirmed to David Letterman that he will not be returning to Saturday Night Live this fall. Turns out he has fallen prey to a mistress well-known among the ranks of former cast members: a film career.
Sudeikis has already been at work on his resume, with roles in movies like Hall Pass, Horrible Bosses, and the upcoming We’re the Millers. Besides his ten-year stint on SNL (two as a writer, eight as a cast member), he has also appeared on small-screen shows including 30 Rock and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
The actor joked to Letterman that “you start to get that itch probably in August, where all of these sketch ideas will show up. And I’ll be like, ‘Well, can I make this sketch idea last 90 minutes and turn it into a movie?!‘ Yeah, probably not.” But we’re still hoping that “Two A-Holes” one day shows up in a theater near us.
