
Police searched the home of New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez yesterday as part of their investigation into the murder of semi-pro football player Odin Lloyd. Hernandez is a Person of Interest in the case and is expected to be issued a warrant shortly on Obstruction of Justice charges.
Hernandez’s home and property were searched for nearly 4 hours, and investigators left with more than a dozen bags of possible evidence. According to ESPN Boston, neither police nor the DA has provided any comment yet, but law enforcement has confirmed that the home security system had been intentionally destroyed, as well as Hernandez’s cellphone which was handed over by his attorneys. Authorities are also questioning why a professional cleaning crew was hired to scrub the house last Monday.
