Orb Gallops to Victory in the Kentucky Derby

In the first leg of the Triple Crown, the co-favorite Orb (6-1) ran strong, thundering through the mud to win the 139th Run for the Roses, more commonly known as the Kentucky Derby.

According to ESPN, the victory has earned Hall of Fame trainer Shug McGaughey his first Derby win.

So could we have a real contender on our hands to capture the first Triple Crown since Affirmed did it in 1978? Stay tuned - the Preakness is up next on May 18th, followed by the Belmont Stakes on June 8th.

Congrats to Orb and jockey Joel Rosario on the epic win in all this slop.
