The world’s hearts and eyes are currently on West, Texas. Last evening there was a fire and subsequent explosion at West Fertilizer Co. There were rumors that there are 60-70 dead, however that is unconfirmed. What is confirmed right now is that 2 are dead and over 150 have been admitted into 3 hospitals.
Texas Governor Rick Perry released the following statement last night:
“We are monitoring developments and gathering information as details continue to emerge about this incident. We have also mobilized state resources to help local authorities. Our thoughts and prayers are with the people of West, and the first responders on the scene.”
In a tweet from the Governor’s personal/campaign account, he recognized the first responders.
Thoughts and prayers with everyone in West, TX. Thx to all the first responders on the scene.
