More Photos of the Detained Boston Marathon ‘Person of Interest’

IMPORTANT UPDATE (APRIL 18, 2013) - Three days after Monday’s bomb attacks that killed three people and injured more than 170 in Boston, the FBI held a press conference Thursday at which they released photos of two suspects identified from surveillance video of the scene at the Boston Marathon.

The FBI and the Joint Terrorism Task Force (JTTF) are seeking tips from the public about these two suspects. Persons having information should contact the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI (1-800-225-5324) or a special online tip site set up by the agency. FBI Special Agent in Charge Richard DesLauriers said that the two suspects should be considered “armed and extremely dangerous,” and warned the public: “Do not take any action on your own.” Report them to police or the FBI.

Yesterday ViralRead published a photo of an individual who was detained by law enforcement for what appears to be of related causes to the bombings in Boston yesterday. Was it the Boston Marathon suspect?

Law enforcement has been very careful not to release too many details to the public about what it does or does not know about the cause or persons behind the bombing. Today at the FBI press conference, which featured a multitude of agencies working on the bombing investigation, FBI Special Agent in Charge Richard “Rick” Deslauriers stressed that he was “not going to say who or who may not be in custody right now.”

What is clear is that law enforcement officials did question a “person of interest” last night. This was likely the “Saudi national” that was quasi-identified yesterday by some outlets on the Internet. Though, sources have told multiple news agencies that the person of interest has checked out as someone not responsible for the bombings.
