#NFLDraft 2013: Top 10 Defensive Line Preview

With the NFL draft just around the corner on April 25th in primetime, ViralRead has decided to put together a draft preview by position. Every day, we will post a new top 10 draft prospects by position.

Top 10 Offensive Line Preview

Today we’ve put together a list of the top defensive line prospects in the 2013 NFL draft. Does your team stink? Chances are if they do, their line stinks and these guys will help:

1.  Sharrif Floyd, DT, Florida

Sharrif is the kind of defensive tackle you can build a defense around as either a 3-4 end or 4-3 DT.

2. Star Lotulelei, DT, Utah

Has the physical tools to be a solid starter in the NFL. Scouts compare him to the Vikings, Kevin Williams. If Lotulelei comes to close to that the team that takes him will be thrilled. Check out the push he gets up front on USC’s Khaled Holmes.

3. Ezekiel Ansah, DE, BYU

Ansah is constantly drawing comparisons to Jason Pierre Paul of the Giants as a freakishly athletic end who can get to the quarterback. The downside - he’s extremely raw for this high of a pick.

4. Bjoern Werner, DE, Florida State

Werner doesn’t blow you away on tape but should be a solid starter. He was also born in Germany. That counts for something right?

5. Jesse Williams, DT, Alabama

Williams grew up playing rugby (like Haoti Ngata) and didn’t start football until the age of 15. He’s huge, incredibly strong, and was coached in college by some of the best. Don’t expect him to get to the quarterback much but he could be NT in a 3-4 for years to come.

6. Datone Jones, DE, UCLA

Undersized and solid pass rusher. Depending on the team that drafts him he could either play 4-3 end or 3-4 OLB.

7. Johnathan Hankins, DT, Ohio State

Great run defender, great size. A lot will depend on the defensive scheme for the team that drafts him.

8. Sheldon Richardson, DT, Missouri

Very athletic but wasn’t productive in college. He’s higher up on a lot of other mock drafts but if he can’t produce in the SEC, how is he going to in the pros?

9. Sylvester “The Cat” Williams, DT, North Carolina

If Williams continues to develop he could be the best value pick DT in this draft. PS The cat isn’t his nickname but I think it works.

10. Magnus Hunt, DE, Southern Methodist

Has been playing football since 2009. Yep, 2009. Incredibly raw but show’s promise.

BUST ALERT: Cornellius (Tank) Carradine, DE, Florida State
