United States Army Staff Sargent Clinton “Clint” Romesha, who received the Medal of Honor Monday at the White House, has formally declined an invitation to President Obama’s State of the Union address tonight in Washington, D.C.
Instead, Romesha and his wife will celebrate their wedding anniversary today with friends and family, including members of his former unit.
Romesha was awarded the Medal of Honor for uncommon valor in the Battle of Kamdesh in Afghanistan, 2009. His son Colin, stole the show at the Monday ceremony as he played a game of “peek-a-boo” behind the White House podium.
Thank you for your service and I remember you cute little boy stealing the show when you were honored with your medal. And good for you to put your family above the what this crazy president deems important.
