A New Dynasty: A&E Reality Show Overtakes American Idol

With its hour-long season finale Wednesday, “Duck Dynasty”, the A&E reality show in its third season which follows the life of the duck-call-crafting Robinson family, drew a record 9.6 million viewers. But the more important stat’s who was watching:  5.5 million adults 18-49. This is a coup for the show, since it was the first time it topped Fox’s “American Idol” in that key tv demographic.

MANHUNT: How Boston Marathon Bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev Was Captured

With the following tweet, the manhunt ended for the accused Boston Marathon bomber who was identified Thursday by the FBI as “Suspect Number Two.” The man now in custody is 19-year-old Dzhokhar Tsarnaev. Tsarnaev and his older brother, Tamerlan, are believed to have carried out Monday’s attack at the Boston Marathon, which killed three people and injured 176.

Bruins, Red Sox Games Postponed as Manhunt Continues

Boston’s NHL and MLB franchises have been affected by the on-going manhunt for the second alleged bomber in Monday’s Boston Marathon bombings.

ESPN.com is reporting that the Boston Bruins game versus the Pittsburgh Penguins at home ice TD Garden might now be played on Saturday at 12:30p.m. But the Red Sox have not announced a makeup date for their game against the Kansas City Royals, what was supposed to be the first of a three-game series.

Former NFL Player and Announcer Pat Summerall Dead at 82

Legendary sports broadcaster and former NFL kicker Pat Summerall died today at the age of 82 after a battle with alcoholism and a successful liver transplant.

Summerall, one half of a legendary broadcasting duo, worked 16 Superbowls over a 21-year partnership with John Madden. Madden described Summerall in the last broadcast they did together as “a treasure” and the “spirit of the NFL.”

“You are what the NFL is all about, what pro football is all about, and more important, what a man is all about and what a gentleman is all about,” Madden said.
