ViralRead Fantasy Football 2013 Draft-Kit, Mock is Cheap: Standard League (Middle Pick)

Mock drafts.

One of the most underrated tools in any Fantasy Player’s tool chest. I talked about the nicety of these in my Draft Day Declarations column focused on beginners. But I know that most of you don’t have time or the will to do them, so, here I am to help.

Today’s mock draft is a standard serpentine 12 team non-PPR league draft, with a middle pick.

You will see after this why I love the middle pick this year.

It will be an 16 round draft. 1QB/2RB/3WR/1TE/1Flex/Def/PK/6bench

Standard scoring. 4pts passing TD/6pts Rushing/Receiving TD

Today I will be selecting 7th.

1.7 (7th Overall)- LeSean McCoy, RB, PHI

Absolutely am amazed he is here at 7 and I am more than happy with this pick. I think that he will be ranked just behind AP at the end of the year.

2.6 (18th Overall)- Jimmy Graham, TE, NOS

This is a tough choice. Do I go with Jimmy Graham, another RB (Frank Gore), or a top 5 WR (D. Thomas)? But, in the end, the overplay of Jimmy Graham is too much to pass up.

3.7 (31st Overall)- Lamar Miller, RB, MIA

David Wilson went 30th overall and Peyton Manning won’t be there for me in the 4th…but I have a RB need and Lamar will be starting and a middle RB2.

4.6 (42nd Overall)- Ahmad Bradshaw, RB, IND

Love this pick and think that he will have a very good year.

5.7 (55th Overall)- Danny Amendola, WR, NEP

Health will be a question mark. BUT when he is starting…WR1 will be where his level will be.

6.6 (66th Overall)- Cecil Shorts, WR, JAC

Besides being the Satan pick…I think he will be just fine.

7.7 (79th Overall)- Andrew Luck, QB, IND

My choices are between Andrew Luck and Russell Wilson here. This is a gut choice more than anything. Either one would be alright here.

8.6 (90th Overall)- Anquan Boldin, WR, SFO

A solid WR option here. And one of few options in San Francisco. Definitely the best WR available.

9.7 (103rd Overall)- Danny Woodhead, RB, SDC

This is my deep sleeper pick. Or the, I don’t know why anyone still believes in Ryan Matthews pick.

10.6 (114th Overall)- Brian Hartline, WR, MIA

I am higher than most on Hartline. He and Tannehill have some great chemistry. I can see him being an effective Wes Welker type in their offense.

11.7 (127th Overall)- Alshon Jeffery, WR, CHI

How much do you want to bet that he will be in the top 127 of all fantasy starters? I will take that bet. He just may be my flex play after week 3.

12.6 (138th Overall)- Sam Bradford, QB, STL

A backup with high upside especially with the Oklahoma offense coming to St. Louis. A great trade piece.

13.7 (151st Overall)- Kendall Hunter, RB, SFO

Frank Gore’s handcuff. But, at this point I am filling bench players.

14.6 (162nd Overall)- Leonard Hankerson, WR, WAS

Another deep sleeper favorite of mine. Happy with the pick.

15.7 (175th Overall)- David Akers, PK, DET

Kicker. Yeah.

16.6 (186th Overall)- Indianapolis Colts, DEF

They open with the Raiders…I will figure out Defense before week 2.

My Team

I ended up with 2QB, 5RB, 6WR, 1 TE/PK/DEF

My starters are Andrew Luck, LeSean McCoy, Lamar Miller, Cecil Shorts, Danny Amendola, Anquan Boldin, Jimmy Graham, and Brian Hartline as my flex.

How I think I did?

Another B. I am beginning to rethink my Jimmy Graham in the second round philosophy because what it does to me in the RB department. I have a top ten QB, top 5 RB, top 5 TE, and a good group of receivers. Will I win games? You bet. Is this a championship caliber team? If a couple of my sleepers hit paydirt. If not…I could be hurting. I think that you guys are starting to understand the value of RBs early.
