The sixth annual Blue Ribbon Bacon Festival took place on February 9, 2013 in Des Moines, Iowa. The event’s 8,000 tickets sold out in three minutes. The event celebrates all things bacon, and culminates in the coronation of a “Bacon Queen,” who wore a dress made entirely out of bacon. Attendees at the event consumed over 6,000 pounds of bacon.
