Former Democratic Nominee Michael Dukakis entered the media filing center here at the Democratic National Convention with little fanfare. In fact, he largely went unrecognized. Different era.

Meanwhile Jesse Jackson Sr. who has been in here 45 minutes (and counting) continues to have a posse of fans in the media parade around with him fawning on his every word.

Team Romney has been trying to convince media reporters covering the conventions to call the stadium here in Charlotte by its name–Bank of America Stadium. However, Democrats have been running away from any optics that might associate them with Wall Street, which most believe would disassociate the base with this years mantra. In the past weeks it has been called Panthers Stadium and about everything else under the sun…

Well, Democrats slipped up. The press passes for today show the venue as “Bank of America Stadium”. Obviously, due to weather reports, Democrats moved President Obama’s speech back into the Time Warner arena, but members of the media are still required to wear Thursday’s printed passes.

If you’re a convention delegate, guest, hell maybe even a member of the media or President Obama’s Finance team, it’s you are going through the 4th street entrance to enter the Time Warner Arena.

Attendees are then forced to take their credentials from the protective pastic sleeve twice, causing many to tear the top hole in their credentials. All so volunteers can touch and feel the texture embedded on the badges for verification purposes (as opposed to holograms and barcodes like every other single major conference and convention… ever) you get to have your belongings and self graced by none other than the Transportation Security Administration.
