Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli kicked off the main stage at CPAC this morning, firing up a full house.
Cuccinelli is best known for his position on President Obama’s controversial Affordable Care Act. The day that the health care bill was signed into law, Cuccinelli filed a lawsuit to overturn the newly signed health care reforms, becoming the first Attorney General to challenge President Obama.
Throughout his speech, he touched upon five elements: tax reform, simplifying regulations, a balanced budget, education reform, and fixing corrections system.
The Virginia Attorney General began by saying, “The education we are giving our children does not properly enable them to compete in this global economy.”
Cuccinelli-a constitutional conservative- reaffirmed that he will continue to defend the Constitution and economic freedom. He said, “Liberals have labeled me as someone who must be defeated at all costs.”
“Most regulations harm liberty. Liberty matters!” he added.
Cuccinelli also said, “Success is a good thing! Children should be taught to “strive to achieve.”"
Currently, Attorney General Cuccinelli is running for the Republican nomination for the 2013 Gubernatorial race in Virginia.
